How do I get my ChatGPT export?expand
  1. Open ChatGPT (web) → click your profile in the bottom-left → Settings.
  2. Go to Data Controls → next to “Export data” click Export and confirm.
  3. OpenAI emails you a download link (usually within 20-30 minutes; can take a day or two for very large accounts). The link expires after 24 hours.
  4. Download the .zip and upload it here as-is. We accept the whole zip — we'll find the conversation files inside, stitch them together, and delete the rest without opening it.

Recommended: unzip the export on your computer and upload only chat.html — it's a single file (no upload of your account metadata, model usage stats, or user.json) that carries the same conversation data we need. Faster upload, less of your data on our servers.

How do I get my Claude export?expand
  1. Open Claude (web or desktop — mobile doesn't support export) → click your initials in the lower-left → Settings.
  2. Go to the Privacy section → click Export data.
  3. Anthropic emails you a download link (usually within a few minutes). The link expires after 24 hours.
  4. The export is a single conversations.json file. Upload it here directly.
